About The Scrap

The Scrap was a small wooden structure used for storage and visiting relatives. The original Scrap no longer exists today, but in 2011, a new custom-built facility was constructed to replicate the late 19th-century structures on the homestead. The shed is designed to match the style of the main house and features cypress board-and-batten siding and exposed rafter tails. Its front includes a custom Dutch door and lattice details taken from existing buildings on the property. Salvaged historic windows were also used for the Scrap.
